The same identity, at every door.
Access control usually arrives as a separate system with a separate database, which is how an institution ends up with a person who is a student in one system, a cardholder in another, and a stranger in the third. Biolog runs access from the same register as everything else. One person, one record, one revocation.

Access points
- Campus and site gates — who may enter, when, and on what basis
- Hostel blocks — residents only, allocated room only, allocation drawn live from the accommodation system
- Examination halls — candidate verification at entry, tied to the venue and the paper
- Libraries — entry, and borrowing tied to the person rather than the ticket
- Secure areas — server rooms, stores, laboratories, cash offices, records rooms
- Staff entrances — attendance capture at the point of entry rather than a separate clocking exercise
Rules, not gatekeepers
Access rights are set centrally by role, cohort, allocation or schedule, and enforced at the reader. A student cleared for Hall B does not get into Hall A. A contractor whose permit expired on Friday does not get in on Monday. Nobody at the door has to remember, argue, or make a judgement call.
Asset tagging
RFID tags on institutional assets — equipment, laboratory instruments, vehicles, library stock — read against the same platform, so movement of an asset can be tied to the identity of the person who moved it. Integrates with the BTS Asset product for full inventory management.
